Opposition political parties in Ireland have put forward a bill to freeze residential rents and issue a tax credit to tenants as a result of rent growth. To provide context on this issue, we show in this report that Irish rents are more affordable than the European average. This is further evidenced by reviewing the affordability of IRES’ rents.
