All eyes will be on this morning’s UK labour market data for signs of a further slowdown in jobs growth, a key issue ahead of the Bank of England’s January policy meeting. However, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will be mindful that both the December Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) survey and the Markit Household Finance survey have bounced back in recent months, pointing to stronger conditions in 2020.
