DAVY VIEW

The Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) expects “significantly more” provisions in Q2 and perhaps beyond. This is not altogether inconsistent with our view, where adopting revised Forward Looking Indicators will result in large charges across the system. Meanwhile, the European Banking Authority (EBA) is proposing the most conservative option for changes in the capital treatment of intangible assets, but it should, nonetheless, provide some relief from a capital perspective, which will be welcomed.
