While adjusted EBIT in Q2 was modestly lower than market expectations (-€1.7bn versus -€1.96bn) Lufthansa also expects a clearly negative adjusted EBIT in the second half of 2020 with limited service on long-haul routes. The group currently expects demand for air travel to return to pre-crisis levels in 2024 at the earliest. It has also announced a restructuring programme, entitled ‘ReNew’. Analyst call is at 09.00 BST (10.00 CET).
