LafargeHolcim (LHN) has revealed new carbon reduction goals, which will reduce its emissions footprint by more than 20% by 2030. The targets are validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and include a range of measures, including accelerating the use of low carbon products, increased waste recycling, higher alternative fuel use and an initiative to operate its first net zero-carbon cement plant. The measures place the group at the forefront of efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in the sector and follow similarly increased targets from HeidelbergCement and Cemex in recent weeks.
