Irish manufacturing PMI rises to 52.2

The rise in this morning’s Irish manufacturing PMI to 52.2 in November is a substantial improvement on the month. The most striking feature was an increase in business expectations to their highest level from January on positive news of a COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Central Bank data provided early signs of a pick-up in consumer spending and demonstrated the enormous rise in household saving, enforced by COVID-19 restrictions.
