Strong growth in customer lending, AUM and capital generation are the key highlights of Bank of Ireland’s (BIRG) Q3 update – demonstrating ongoing execution of strategy. The group reiterated 2024 guidance; together with a strong capital position, this points to material returns of capital through dividends and buybacks. While BIRG is a higher beta play on interest rates than an average European bank, the recent underperformance strongly discounts the strong underlying business performance and capital generation.
