Recovery continues for global equity markets
DAVY VIEW
May saw the continued recovery in global equity markets, helped by the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in many countries. The reopening of economies contributed to the positive sentiment, although this was pared somewhat by increasing tensions between the US and China. The MSCI AC World Index gained 4.0%, reducing the year-to-date (ytd) deficit to 8.7%.
