In a move that is both surprising and progressive, Danone has announced an accelerated re-investment plan in brand packaging, carbon neutrality and climate resilience – the initiative will impact margin over the medium term. The CEO is setting a different agenda to the broader CPG market – almost radical but arguably necessary. The challenge will be keeping all stakeholders aligned through a period of great change. For now, we applaud the move while recognising the inherent uptick in volatility.
