Essentra Components has delivered consistent growth over time at good margins. When it was part of the wider Essentra group (before it emerged as a pure-play components business in 2022), it was seen by many as the jewel in the crown. The valuation debate now, in our view, centres on the strategic medium-term ambitions that management laid out two years ago and whether they still hold – an exceptionally tough trading environment in the last two years has clouded the picture somewhat. We see this as an opportunity.
