Hill & Smith (HILS) is a specialist UK engineering company supplying products and services into infrastructure end markets in the UK and US. It operates in three divisions: Galvanizing Services, Engineered Solutions and Roads & Security. HILS has over 40 manufacturing and galvanising sites globally, producing a broad range of products such as off-grid solar lighting; steel temporary road barriers to protect road construction workers; and coating steel with zinc to give long-term protection to composite pedestrian bridges. In FYDec22, 48% of group revenue and 64% of adjusted EBITA came from its US operations. With M&A a key part of its growth strategy, it is targeting a 15% operating margin and has a return on invested capital (RoIC) above 18%.
