Bank of Ireland Pulse survey falls to eight-month low

This morning’s Bank of Ireland Economic Pulse survey shows sentiment falling to an eight-month low, hurt by concerns on Brexit and COVID-19 and before the news of the new Omicron variant. Companies and households now seem more cautious on prospects for 2022. However, for now there is little evidence that the uncertainty is affecting spending plans; companies still plan to raise investment and expand employment and 75% of households expect to match or raise spending this Christmas season.
