The Supreme Court judgement will provide important certainty for personal injury claims. The length of time to settle claims has slowed as claimants awaited the outcome of the judgement and should also normalise from here. In overall terms, proving the efficacy of the guidelines (introduced in 2021) is another important milestone in the government’s insurance reform plan. A review of the guidelines will be finalised later this year.
