FBD is a leading provider of general insurance in Ireland to farmers, households and small businesses. With a Gross Written Premium (GWP) of EUR502m in FY 2025, FBD is the fifth-largest non-life insurer in Ireland. The business is predominantly rural-focussed with strong brand loyalty. Farmer insurance represents 51% of GWP, with business and retail representing 29% and 20% respectively. Insurance is primarily distributed through direct channels (via 34 nationwide branches, call centres and digital channels) and partnerships with An Post and Bank of Ireland. FBD targets a low 90s Combined Operating Ratio for full year 2026 and maintains a Solvency Capital Ratio of 201% - in excess of its risk appetite of 150-170%.
