About Aongus Hegarty

While I can’t describe him as unique, I can definitely say that Aongus Hegarty is an uncommon species – not because his last twenty four years was spent in the technology sector but because that tenure was with a single company and covered periods where the company was publicly quoted, then taken off the stock market in a private equity funded transaction, then did the biggest acquisition in its history, before returning to the public markets, all the while being lead by the same well known man, who gave his name to the company.

From 1999 to 2023, Aongus held several executive roles at Dell Technologies. His most recent was President for International Markets, an organisation spanning over 170 countries, supported by over 50,000 team members who helped customers of all sizes on their digital transformation journey .

Aongus Hegarty is a seasoned board member, strategic advisor, and thought leader, with four decades of global business experience. He has been Chair of the Executive Council for the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union - leading the strategy to ensure a growth-oriented business and investment climate in Europe for US companies. He is a member of the Special Olympics Ireland Council of Patrons, Chair of the Munster Rugby Commercial Advisory Group, and a member of the 30% Club Ireland Advisory Group.
